She replaces Patrice This (INRAE), head of the Diversity, adaptation and breeding of grapevine team (DAAV), who had been at the Unit's head for more than 10 years, as Deputy Director and then Director.

Manuel Ruiz (CIRAD), formerly head of the Data Integration (ID) team, Évelyne Costes (INRAE), formerly head of the Fruit tree architecture and functions team (AFEF), and Joëlle Ronfort (INRAE), formerly head of the Evolutionary genomics and population management team (GE²pop) team, are appointed as Deputy Directors alongside Claire Billot, as of 1 April 2020.

Gilles Trouche (CIRAD), previously head of the Genetics and varietal innovation (GIV) team, is appointed as Deputy Director with effect from 1 July 2020.

Emmanuel Guiderdoni (CIRAD) will leave his post as Deputy Director of the Unit on 1 July 2020.
