Intervention in the «Plant Anatomical Phenotyping» module (PAMPA) in the framework of the «Biotechnology and Tropical Plant Improvement» Master's degree

The students of the Master " Biotechnology and Improvement of Tropical Plants of Montpellier " followed the PAMPA module " Phenotyping Anatomy of Plants " in January 2023.
This module was initiated within the framework of the "Cultivar" project and led by Jean-Christophe Glaszmann, researcher of the UMR Agap Institut. It was made possible to perpetuate this module thanks to the will of the Plateforme d'histocytologie et d'imagerie cellulaire végétale (PHIV).
The students worked on histological and histochemical data of sorghum from the « Biomass for the future » project (D. Pot).

Two important questions were addressed: which genotypes are the most suitable for the manufacture of biocomposites for the automotive industry? What is the impact of water stress on the biomass quality of the stems of different genotypes?  The PAMPA module was also proposed to the Master students of the Agro Institute with the support of Isabelle Farrera, Engineer of the Architecture and flowering of fruit species team (AFEF).
A good transmission of the approaches and knowledge acquired in the framework of the ANR BFF project.
