Job offer: Experimental technician for the ecophysiology platform
The ecophysiology platform of the UMR Agap Institute, located on the CIRAD Lavalette site, is recruiting a person who will work under controlled conditions (greenhouse, growth chamber) and who will also be able to carry out field activities.
The mission of the ecophysiology platform of the UMR AGAP Institut, located on the CIRAD Lavalette site, is to
- to host and support research teams wishing to analyze the functioning of plants in well-controlled environments representative of current and future climates,
- to conduct a scientific watch on methods and tools for the ecophysiological characterization of plant material.
This platform intervenes as well for the study of the functioning of the aerial apparatus of the plant (Abiophen experimental space allowing to reproduce target climatic conditions for the research of adaptations), as for the root system (description and analysis of the root system carried out with the help of Rhizoscope, a tool specifically developed for this purpose). For this purpose, the platform has a set of powerful measurement tools (photosynthesis analyzers, chlorophyll fluorescence, water and osmotic potential, infrared thermography), allowing to analyze the fundamental physiological processes of the plant functioning and its interaction with the environment under abiotic stresses (drought, high temperature, increased CO2...), both in controlled conditions and in-situ. Also, the platform allows a medium rate phenotyping, to analyze in fine understand these physiological processes of adaptations.
