Job offer: Researcher in biostatistics applied to plant improvement

CIRAD has a job offer for a researcher in biostatistics who will be in charge of identifying and developing statistical methods for a better understanding of the genetic architecture of traits of agronomic interest and optimizing their predictions in plant improvement programs.

The person recruited will join the Genetics and Varietal Innovation (GIV) team of the UMR AGAP Institute (Genetic Improvement and Adaptation of Tropical and Mediterranean Plants).
The GIV team works on the improvement of several species (rice, sorghum, millet, cotton, roots and tubers) using a wide variety of approaches such as genetic analysis, genomic/phenomic prediction and participatory selection, in partnership with research and development institutions in developing countries. The person recruited will collaborate with other CIRAD teams and units and will contribute to extend the network of partners to the numerous research institutes in the Montpellier region.
