Passionate about genetics and plants, join AGAP Institute (Amélioration Génétique et Adaptation des Plantes). Within the UMR, as part of the Guadeloupe Molecular Biology platform, your mission will be shared between the Citrus (SEAPAG), Yam (DEFI) and Banana (GABA) teams, and the Genetic Resources Center (CRB-PT). We are working on the genetic improvement of the various species concerned, with the aim of improving tolerance to biotic and abiotic factors in the context of adaptation to climate change: diseases, competition with other species, water stress, etc.
You will contribute to the unit's various projects by carrying out molecular biology analyses for disease monitoring and detection (e.g. Huanglongbing in citrus), supporting the elucidation of the genetic determinism of traits of interest (resistance, quality, agronomic performance, etc.), validating diagnostic markers (SSR, KASP), genotyping (SSR, SNP) collections and breeding populations, and analyzing the expression of candidate genes. On genetic resource collections, you will carry out sanitization work on pineapple, citrus and other in vitro cultured species using various methods. You will carry out sanitation confirmation tests using molecular biology tools and wean the vitroplants in the greenhouse
