Job offer_Competition INRAE : Genetic and genomic researcher for the study of phenology and flowering in perennial fruit species

The National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and the Environment (INRAE) is a public research institution under the dual supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Research.

You will be part of the Architecture and Flowering of Fruit Trees (AFEF) team within the Joint Research Unit "Genetic Improvement and Adaptation of Mediterranean and Tropical Plants" (AGAP Institute; Montpellier, France).
The AFEF team is composed of 9 permanent staff including two researchers (1 DR1 and 1 CRCN), four engineers (1 IR, 3 IE) and one assistant-engineer, one lecturer (MC) and one technician (TR). Moreover, the team regularly welcomes students, PhD students and post-doctoral fellows. In the AFEF team, we combine genetic, genomic, molecular and modeling approaches to decipher the mechanisms of floral induction and control of flowering time, and to predict environmentally regulated phenological phases in apple (Malus domestica), as a model plant for fruit tree species. This knowledge aims to support the selection of fruit trees adapted to the negative impacts of global climate change.
