Study on the reaction of rice varieties in a CO2-rich environment by researchers of the UMR Agap Institut

In the face of climate change, it is important to anticipate which cultivation practices and which varieties need to be developed in order to deploy an agriculture that meets societal and environmental expectations, today and tomorrow.

If CO2 (carbon dioxide) is one of the main greenhouse gases emitted by human activities that cause global warming, it is also an essential source of food for plants, which convert it into sugar through photosynthesis.
These sugars are used for their growth and reproduction, through the synthesis of different types of resources (grain, oil, fruit, stem).
