The citrus value chain and yellow dragon disease
Raphaël Morillon, CIRAD Research Director, from the Citrus Evolutionary Structure, Polyploidy and Genetic Improvement (SEAPAG) team of the UMR Agap Institute, presents the thematic video on the citrus disease Huanglongbing (yellow dragon disease) in the framework of the Malin project.
Crop damage, yield loss, price increases... The consequences of the deadly yellow dragon citrus disease or Huanglongbing (HLB) can be disastrous. Already present in almost all producing regions, HLB is now threatening the Mediterranean basin. CIRAD and its partners are developing integrated pest management strategies under several projects, including Tropicsafe, funded by the European Union, which is coming to an end.
