Discover some projects managed by the unit (projects ordered in descending order of end date) : they reflect the variety of the scientific targets, of the geographical areas where projects take place, and of the funding sources. Among the projects hereby described around half are supported by French public funds (ANR, foundation Agropolis), a third by European funds (H2020, regional funds) and the rest through diverse sources (French and foreign private partners, international organizations, ...)

To conserve and enhance the genetic resources of perennial plants for agriculture and forestry, CIRAD has initiated a Biological Resources Center for Perennial Plants in French Guiana (CRB-PPG).
-

ORACLE: Optimisation of cultural rotations and associations cereals-legumes
Varietal diversity, cultural practices and symbiosis in dryland cereals and legumes systems in family farming in West Africa

Scarcer water availability and sea level rise are some of the climate change effects that clearly contribute to the salinization of the river deltas, where rice is grown in Europe. Most rice varieties are severely injured by abiotic stresses caused by salinization, with a strong impact on rice production. In addition, the Ebro river delta, in Spain, is affected by the Apple Snail pest which is destroying rice seedlings and against which the recommended sea water treatment contributes to an increase in soil salinity.

EVENTS: Endogenous viral elements: role in virus evolution and functions in plants
This project aims to investigate both the positive and negative impacts of endogenous viral elements (EVEs) on plant metabolism, and to reconstruct accurate time-scaled evolutionary histories of entire viral lineages across unprecedented time-spans
-
CAVALBIO: Caracterisation and valorisation of tropical crop diversity
Cavalbio contributes to the development of sustainable yams and citrus sectors, by creating innovative plant material adapted to regional issues. It aims to optimize breeding strategies based on the mobilization of biodiversity. The analysis of the acceptance of varietal or technical innovations by producers completes the project
-
-
BREEDCAFS : BREEDing Coffee for AgroForestry Systems
-
DYNAmic seed networks for managing European diVERSITY
DYNAVERSITY analyses and describes the actors involved in plant genetic conservation for agriculture in order to suggest management and governance models and to construct new forms of networking
